The differences between HAA curing agent and TGIC curing agent are as follows.
1. Chemical structure and reaction mechanism
Polyester resins for HAA based formulations, which is mainly cured by esterification reaction with acidic functional groups in polyester resin. It has high reactivity and can usually achieve a faster curing process at a lower temperature.
TTGIC curing agent is a chemical substance containing epoxy groups, which crosslinks and cures by reaction of epoxy groups with hydroxyl or acid groups in polyester resin. Its curing usually requires a higher temperature, usually 200℃, and the reaction rate is slow.
2. Toxicity and irritation
HAA curing agent:
Low toxicity and low irritation: HAA curing agent is relatively safe, with low toxicity and irritation, and less irritation to the skin and respiratory tract.
TGIC curing agent:
High toxicity and irritation: TGIC curing agent is a toxic chemical with strong skin and eye irritation. Long-term contact may cause allergic reactions or other health problems.
3. Curing conditions
HAA curing agent:
HAA curing agent has high reactivity and can be cured quickly at a lower temperature, usually in the range of 160-180℃, and the curing time is short. This makes HAA curing agent very suitable for fast production and coating applications. For example, type YZ9848, ratio 95/5, acid value (mgKOH/g) 30~40, viscosity (pa-s/200℃) 3. 0~7. 0, glass transition temperature (Tg℃) 62~64, curing time (℃/min) is 165℃×12', fast low temperature curing speed, good boiling resistance, anti-frost, suitable for preparation
TGIC curing agent:
TGIC curing agent usually requires a higher curing temperature (200℃) and a relatively long curing time, which makes it unsuitable for applications requiring high production efficiency.
4. Weather resistance and performance
HAA curing agent:
HAA-cured coatings have good weather resistance and can maintain good stability under ultraviolet rays, moisture and temperature changes.
TGIC Curing Agent:
TGIC-cured coatings have chemical resistance, high temperature resistance and UV stability, and are often used in coating systems that require high durability, especially in environments such as high temperature, high humidity, and high salt.
5. Application Areas
HAA Curing Agent:
Due to its low toxicity and irritation, HAA curing agent is very suitable for coating formulations that require low toxicity, low irritation and environmental protection, especially in home, automotive, architectural coatings, home appliance coatings and other fields with high safety requirements.
HAA curing agent is also commonly used in outdoor coatings and is suitable for coatings that are exposed to ultraviolet rays for a long time.
TGIC Curing Agent:
TGIC curing agent is usually used in environments, especially for industrial coatings, high-gloss products, semi-gloss products, engineering machinery, transportation coatings and other applications that require high chemical resistance and high temperature resistance.
